Will an AI chat assistant make things up about my business?
It can, and most will. The protection is not the model — it is restricting what the model is allowed to answer from, and having it say "I do not know" out loud when the answer is not there.
A general chatbot with your logo on it will invent a price, a warranty or a service area, because that is what a language model does when it is asked something it has no information about. The failure is not exotic and it is not rare. It is the default.
What stops it is narrowing the ground. Ours answers from your own published pages and from answers written with you, and nothing else. When a question falls outside that, it says so and offers a callback rather than guessing. It cannot quote a price you have not published, because the price is not in what it can see.
This is worth testing before you buy anything, from us or anyone. Ask a prospective assistant something your site does not cover — a price for an unusual job, whether you work a town you do not serve, a warranty length. An assistant that answers confidently has just shown you what it will do to a customer.
The practical risk is not embarrassment. It is that a made-up quote is a number a customer will hold you to, and arguing about it costs more than the job.
