Questions we get asked

If yours is not here, the assistant in the corner will answer it — and tell you when it cannot.

What does it cost?
$500 once to set it up, then $300 a month with a 6-month minimum. Billed monthly rather than up front. After the first 6 months it continues month to month.
What is the monthly fee actually for?
Curation, not software access. Every week we read the questions your visitors asked, find the ones the assistant could not answer, and write the answers. When your site changes it re-reads it. An assistant left alone gets worse as your business moves on without it.
How long does setup take?
About a week from the day we start. We read your site, write the answers it does not cover, test it against the questions you actually get, and then give you one line of HTML to paste before the closing body tag.
Will it make things up?
It answers from your own pages and the answers we write with you, and nothing else. When it does not know, it says so and offers a callback rather than guessing. It cannot quote a price you have not published or a service you do not offer, because those are not in what it reads.
Does it work on my website?
If you can paste one line of HTML into it, yes. That includes WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, GoDaddy and hand-written sites. Nothing else about your site changes and nothing needs rebuilding.
What happens when someone wants to be contacted?
You get an email within seconds containing their name, how to reach them, and the whole conversation that led up to it — so you already know what the job is before you call back.
Can it run up a large bill?
No. Every account has a monthly ceiling you set. At the ceiling the assistant stops answering and hands out your phone number instead, so the worst case is a quiet month, never a surprise invoice.
Does it pretend to be a person?
No. Every conversation opens by saying it is an assistant, and a visitor can ask for a human at any point and get your details.
What do you store about my visitors?
The messages both sides sent, the page they came from, and a random session id. No IP address is written down and no cookie follows anyone off your site. Conversations are deleted on a schedule you choose, and we can find and delete everything held on one person if they ask.
Who is behind it?
Overmountain AI is a small team in the southern Appalachians working with local trades and service businesses. The trading entity is named on our terms and privacy pages.
