Do you work in my town?

We work across western North Carolina, east Tennessee and upstate South Carolina. There is a checker on the home page that takes a town or a ZIP code, and if yours is not on the list it is worth asking anyway — the list is places we have said yes to, not a boundary.

The service area is western North Carolina, east Tennessee and upstate South Carolina. We name the towns rather than drawing a radius, because a radius on a map means nothing in country where an hour of driving can be twelve miles.

The checker on the home page takes a ZIP code as well as a town name. The ZIPs come from published data rather than a range somebody typed out — a hand-written range is how a checker ends up quietly telling people in Charlotte that it covers them, since 28xxx is most of North Carolina. A ZIP is in our table only if its own city is one of the towns we name, so the two answers cannot disagree.

Setup is mostly remote — reading your site and writing answers does not require standing in your office — so the geography matters less for the work than it does for knowing your market. What we get out of being local is knowing that "do you come out to Banner Elk" is a real question with a real answer, and that the answer changes in January.

If your town is not on our list, ask. The list is the places we have already said yes to. The honest answer for somewhere further out might still be yes, and if it is no we will say that rather than take the money and do it badly.
