How long before it is actually working on my site?
About a week from the day we start, and about one line of HTML at your end. Most of that week is us reading your site and writing the answers it does not cover.
The first few days are reading. We crawl your site so the assistant can answer from your own pages, then go through what is missing — the questions you get constantly that are nowhere in writing, because you have always answered them on the phone.
Then we write those answers with you. This is the part that takes the time and the part that decides whether the thing is any good. An assistant that can only repeat your website is not much use, because your website is already there.
Then we test it against the real questions, you look at it, and when you are happy you paste one line of HTML before the closing body tag of your site. If somebody else maintains your site, forward them the line — it is the whole installation.
After that the weekly work starts: reading what visitors actually asked, finding what it could not answer, and writing those answers too. That is the monthly fee.
